PROVIDE FIRST AID (HLTAID003)

HLTAID003

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. 

​

the unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

CONDUCT LOCAL RISK CONTROL  (RIIRIS201E)

RIIRIS201E

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct local risk in the resources and infrastructure industries.

It applies to those working in operational roles.

 

They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take some responsibility for the quality of own work outcomes.

OPERATE BREATHING APPARATUS OPEN CIRCUIT
(PUAFIR207)

PUAFIR207

This unit covers the competency required to select, don, operate and maintain breathing apparatus equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere.

​

This unit applies to personnel who work as a member of a team. Work at this level is undertaken under direct supervision and instruction.

​

This unit replaces PUAFIR207B and is a pre-requisite to PUAFIR324 & PUAFIR306

UNDERTAKE ROAD CRASH RESCUE (PUASAR024)

PUASAR024

This unit covers the competency required to gain access to and extricate entrapped casualty/s from vehicles travelling on the road such as cars, motorcycles, buses, trucks and semi-trailers while minimising the potential for further injury and preserving the integrity of evidence.

​

This unit requires the responder to access entrapped casualty/s using a range of techniques and to operate specialist equipment to undertake the rescue.

​

This unit applies to a member of a rescue team. This unit may be customised to suit a range of road crash rescue incidents based on an organisational risk profile.

UNDERTAKE CONFINED SPACE RESCUE (PUASAR025)

PUASAR025

This unit covers the competency required to undertake rescue in confined spaces, as defined in AS 2865-2009 Confined spaces, as a member of a single agency or multi-disciplinary team.

​

The application of this unit in the workplace covers a range of confined space rescue situations.

​

The unit is typically performed by personnel from emergency services and/or volunteer organisations or organisations where confined space work is undertaken.

APPLY RISK MANAGEMENT PROCESSES (RIIRIS301E)

RIIRIS301E

This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to apply risk management processes in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.

This unit is appropriate for those working in operational or supervisory roles.

CONDUCT FIRE TEAM OPERATIONS (RIIERR201E)

RESPOND TO LOCAL EMERGENCIES AND INCIDENTS (RIIERR302E)

This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to apply initial response First Aid in Coal and Metalliferous mining.

​

This unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles.

​

IDENTIFY, DETECT & MONITOR HARZADOUS MATERIALS AT AN INCIDENT (PUAFIR306)

PUAFIR306

This unit covers the competency required to use specific equipment to detect airborne contaminants, liquids and solids.

​

This unit applies to personnel required to detect and identify contaminants at a hazardous materials incident using specialist equipment to identify the materials, assess the risk posed by the material identified and formulate a plan for their safe isolation and removal.

 

RENDER HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENTS SAFE (PUAFIR324)

PUAFIR324

This unit covers the competency required to use specific equipment to detect airborne contaminants, liquids and solids.

This unit replaces PUAFIR307B Monitor hazardous atmospheres.

​

This unit applies to personnel required to detect and identify contaminants at a hazardous materials incident using specialist equipment to identify the materials, assess the risk posed by the material identified and formulate a plan for their safe isolation and removal.

 

PREPARE EQUIPMENT FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE
(PMAWHS211)

PMAWHS211

This unit covers the preparation and minor servicing of equipment used to respond to emergency situations.

​

All operations to which this unit applies are subject to stringent Health, Safety And Environment (HSE) requirements, which may be imposed through state or federal legislation, and these must not be compromised at any time. Where there is an apparent conflict between Performance Criteria and HSE requirements, the HSE requirements take precedence.

UNDERTAKE VERTICAL RESCUE (PUASAR032)

PUASAR032

This unit covers the competency required to undertake vertical rescue in a range of emergency situations in natural and man-made environments. The application of this unit in the workplace covers a range of vertical rescue situations. 

 

The unit is typically performed by personnel from emergency services and/or volunteer organisations.
